Who this is for

Start from where you are.

Functional users, aspiring SAP consultants and developers who need business-process context.

01

Before you begin

Basic business-process knowledge; SAP system access and the selected product version must be agreed.

Learning path

From understanding to evidence.

Use this outline to discuss a suitable scope. Depth, tools and assessment are confirmed for the selected programme.

01Process scope

Map organisational units, responsibilities and the business outcome before exploring transactions.

02Master data

Understand how materials, business partners and other relevant records affect downstream processing.

03Transaction flow

Follow an agreed order-to-cash, procure-to-pay or manufacturing scenario and trace its documents.

04Controls and exceptions

Review validations, approvals, posting dependencies and how to document an exception.

05Reporting and testing

Prepare test cases, reconcile outputs and explain the source of a reported figure.

06Delivery evidence

Write a functional brief, issue log and user guide for the selected scenario.

Practical evidence

Make the outcome visible.

A practical exercise should show both the result and the reasoning behind it. The following is a discussion starting point; the final assignment depends on the agreed scope and available environment.

PRACTICAL OUTPUT

Trace a business process from request to posting

  1. A process and document-flow map
  2. A master-data and test-case workbook
  3. An exception analysis and user guide
