METADYNAMIC / IOT APPS

IoT apps that make operational signals useful.

Bring selected equipment and asset data into the hands of the people who can act on it. MetaDynamic designs IoT applications for monitoring, alert handling and connected operations.

WHAT YOUR APP CAN DO

Capabilities built around the workflow.

Select the capabilities that solve a defined business problem. Platform, configuration and integration choices are agreed during discovery.

Connected asset views

Organise sensors and equipment by site, location and asset so readings have business context.

Operational dashboards

Present selected trends, status and exceptions with timestamps and data-quality indicators.

Rules & alerts

Define thresholds, persistence, escalation and acknowledgement to reduce unhelpful notifications.

Maintenance workflows

Turn approved events into inspection requests or maintenance work through a supported interface.

Edge-aware data handling

Plan buffering, time synchronisation and reconnection behaviour for intermittent connectivity.

Device governance

Define device identity, network boundaries, access control and ownership for ongoing support.

A PRACTICAL APPLICATION

A machine condition becomes a maintenance decision.

An agreed condition persists beyond its threshold. The app validates the reading, identifies the asset and routes an alert to the maintenance team. A technician reviews the context and records the response. ERP or maintenance updates follow the agreed workflow, with reconciliation when connectivity returns.

01
Device or edge eventCapture an agreed reading with its time and asset identity.
02
Context and validationCheck data quality, operating range and asset mapping.
03
Alert and ownershipApply a rule and route the event to the responsible team.
04
Resolution and historyRecord the action and feed the outcome into reporting.

CONNECTED TO YOUR ENTERPRISE

Integration designed around your existing systems.

Plan the application around the systems of record you already use. Assess SAP, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday or a custom ERP against the actual interface and permission requirements.

Use supported connectors or APIs where available. Define ownership, mapping, retries, error handling and reconciliation so an integration remains supportable. Connector availability, licences and system versions affect the scope.

Desktop & laptopTabletMobile browser

Native mobile, offline, voice and specialist-device experiences are scoped when the workflow requires them.

READINESS CHECK

Build the foundations first.

  • InstrumentationConfirm sensor availability, calibration, signal quality and required sampling.
  • ConnectivityAssess protocols, gateways, edge processing and network constraints.
  • Operational readinessAgree alert ownership, support procedures and response expectations.

DELIVERY & ADOPTION

From a useful idea to a supported application.

Discover

Map users, decisions, source data and success measures.

Design

Define the experience, architecture, access and integration contracts.

Build & validate

Deliver in increments and test representative workflows with users.

Launch & improve

Prepare training, monitoring, support and a prioritised improvement backlog.

Measure the outcome: Alert response time · Data completeness · Repeat events · Maintenance follow-through. Agree the baseline and target before delivery; results depend on scope and adoption.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BUILD

Your iot apps questions, answered.

Can you connect existing machines?

Possibly. We first assess the available signals, protocols, gateways and network access. Some equipment needs additional instrumentation or vendor support; compatibility is confirmed during discovery.

Will the app work when the connection is unavailable?

Buffering and offline behaviour can be designed for selected components. The approach depends on devices, storage, security and synchronisation requirements; it is not automatic for every deployment.

Does the app control equipment directly?

Monitoring and workflow integration are scoped separately from control. Any equipment-control use case requires specialist engineering, operational safeguards and site-specific validation.
