The business requirement

A practical interface for connected equipment

RK Enterprises needed a web application for IoT motor and valve control, supported by an administration interface for customer and device setup. The project brought software workflows together with controller configuration and installation documentation.

The engagement followed a phased approach. Phase I covered the initial application and motor-controller prototype. Phase II remained a separate scope for later discussion, so this story focuses on the documented Phase I work.

Application scope

Separate responsibilities. Purpose-built screens.

01

Customer & device setup

The admin portal includes business-partner creation and separate setup options for motors, valves and IoT controllers. This gives administrators an organised place to maintain the application’s device configuration.

02

Motor & valve parameters

Dedicated parameter screens separate configuration work from the customer’s control view. The supplied screens show distinct motor and valve settings within the admin application.

03

Customer control portal

A separate customer interface provides motor and valve control screens, a dashboard, Excel report downloads and a contact route. The demonstrated motor view includes separate on/off controls for two motors.

04

Reporting & communication

The project includes Excel download screens and an administrator messaging interface. These functions support reviewing application information and handling customer communication alongside device control.

Application access

Admin portal

Customer setup, device options and operating parameters.

Customer portal

Motor and valve controls, reports and contact functions.

Hosted application

Web application & database

The cloud documentation covers application source files, hosting configuration and database setup.

Equipment connection

Wi-Fi communicator & controllers

Controller setup documentation links the application work to the motor-starter installation and connectivity configuration.

Implementation

A phased path to the prototype

01

Requirements & phase boundaries

Separate Phase I and Phase II requirements established the initial project scope.

02

Application & role design

Architecture, features and responsibilities defined the work around the web application and IoT hardware.

03

Portal development

Admin and customer interfaces covered device setup, controls, reporting and communication.

04

Hosting & controller setup

Cloud application documentation accompanied controller wiring and Wi-Fi setup guidance.

05

Phase I demonstration

The project record identifies a successful IoT motor-controller prototype on 19 August 2022.

06

Handover & next-phase planning

The record sets out prototype handover planning and a separate discussion for Phase II. It does not establish a completed Phase II rollout.

Project milestone

A demonstrated motor-control prototype

The documented achievement is the Phase I IoT motor-controller prototype, supported by admin and customer application screens and technical setup material.

The project shows how a custom application can organise customer-specific device configuration and give users a focused control interface. No performance, energy-saving or uptime figures are claimed.
